KALADI

It is for the most the best and most famous beach of the island, which every visitor of the island must visit. It is a shingled beach with green-blue crystal-clear waters, which is situated at the east part of the island, just next to Palaiopolis. In order to reach the beach you need to drive on a dirt road for a few metres and then walk down about 120 stone steps. The beach is separated into three parts. The third of them, which is the most impressive, is a small cave that leads to a very small beach. It is not organized, so be well prepared. However, since June 2016 there is a canteen just before the parking lot, where you can be provided with all the necessary stuff (water, beverages and fresh sandwiches, etc.). The canteen is open from 10.00 in the morning until late in the afternoon.

FIRI AMMOS (KALAMOS)

There are two beaches with that name on the island. The first one, which is the most well-known, is at the south-east part of the island, very close to the village of Kalamos. It is a very long beach with red sand and small stones, and it has also been awarded with the “Golden Starfish” award because of its natural beauty and clear waters. Crowded, but attention is needed on the road, especially where it ends, where it is a bit difficult to park. But it is worth it, as visitors get what they deserve in an ideal way. Since last year, the beach has been organized with a canteen and umbrellas and this is important, as the “civilization” is a few kilometers away!
